Food Insecurity Resources for Students
The PRiSM community is deeply concerned about the reality that nearly half of undergraduate students do not have reliable access to nutritious food. A recent survey at NYU reported that approximately 20% of NYU students have trouble affording food. If you or someone you know is having trouble accessing meals or groceries, you are not alone. The resources below are a place to start:
The College Student Pantry: A food pantry just for students. First and third Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00pm at 9th St & Ave B.
New School Food Pantry: Located at 6 E 16th St in the 12th Floor Cafe. Hours & Info here.
NYU Courtesy Meals: NYU student food assitance via short term meal plans provided by the university. For more info, click here.
Trinity's SAFH Food Pantry: 12:30-1:30pm M-F @ 9th St & Ave. B. More info at safhnyc.org/get/food.
Daisy's Food Pantry at Church of the Village: Tuesdays, 1-3pm @ 201 W 13th St. More info churchofthevillage.org/hnn.
Ascension Outreach Food Pantry: First and Third Saturday of each month, 8:30-9:00am at 12 West 11th Street, more info at ascensionoutreach.org.
